Questions & Answers

Can I start without any experience?

YES! Our mission is to make dancing fun and accessible for everyone, especially by making your first salsa experience a blast!

Everyone starts at Level 1 (beginners course), unless you already have experience with Cuban salsa. Our courses are structured in such a way that you learn to dance step by step, with a lot of attention to the basics.

Definitely! At Salsa te Gusta, people sign up every season without a dance partner. It's actually a super fun way to quickly meet new people in our community. Over the years, we've seen that groups always form very naturally! 😊

In our regular classes we often change partners, because this is one of the best ways to learn to dance flexibly and quickly! Every partner leads and follows differently, which enriches your dance skills. šŸ’ƒšŸ•ŗ

The average age of our students is 28 years old šŸŽ‰. One of our main goals is to get young Amsterdam salsa together!

Absolutely! At Salsa te Gusta you don't have to be a natural dancer to learn salsa. Our lessons are made for people who have never danced before! šŸŽ‰

Salsa te Gusta is all about comfort and style! Here are our tips for the perfect dance outfit: Clothing: Wear something you feel good in and that you can move in. Fresh, breathable fabrics work best. Bring an extra shirt and small towel (you're going to sweat!) Shoes: Beginners: regular sneakers or comfortable shoes are fine. Advanced: shoes with smooth soles for smooth turns. Heels are also allowed, as long as you're comfortable dancing in them.
