New in Amsterdam? Find Your People Through Salsa

Dance Class That Feels Like a Welcome

You’ve just landed in Amsterdam, city of bikes, canals, and endless newness. Your bags are still half-packed, Google Maps is your lifeline, and every day feels like a fresh start. But let’s be real: building a life here isn’t just about logistics. It’s about connection.

And connection can be surprisingly hard to find in a big, busy city.

That’s where salsa, and Salsa te Gusta, comes in.

“I joined on a whim after moving here. Now I’ve got friends, rhythm, and a reason to look forward to Mondays.” – Roman, STG student

A Place to Land, and Dance

Salsa te Gusta isn’t just a dance school. It’s a warm landing spot for anyone starting fresh in Amsterdam. Whether you’ve come from Spain, Brazil, Germany, or Groningen, our classes speak a language deeper than words: music, movement, laughter, and belonging.

Walk into a class and you’ll feel it instantly. The energy is contagious. You’re greeted with smiles, welcomed into the circle, and before you know it, you’re clapping to the beat, learning names, and laughing over missed steps like you’ve known these people forever.

It’s not about being a dancer. It’s about showing up, as you are, and letting rhythm do the rest.

From Try-Out to Tribe

Many of our students began with a try-out, unsure if salsa was for them. Some hadn’t danced since childhood. Others came alone, just hoping to meet someone, anyone.

And now? They’re dancing Rueda in Level 3, going out together on weekends, and helping newcomers feel at home, just like they once did.

“I was nervous to come alone, but I felt at ease right away. The teachers were so warm and funny, and the group just… clicked. It’s now my happy place every week.” – Sybil

Community Beyond Class

The STG experience goes beyond the studio walls. With weekly socials, spontaneous dinners, dance nights in the city, and our vibrant WhatsApp groups, you’ll never feel like you’re navigating Amsterdam alone.

Our community is made of curious, open-hearted people from all over the world, students, creatives, engineers, freelancers, all connected by one thing: the joy of dancing together.

And the beauty? You don’t have to be a dancer. You just have to be willing to step in.

“I never imagined salsa would become my anchor in a new city. I came for the movement, stayed for the people.” – Remco
